2:00 p.m.

Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery

In celebration of National Preservation Month, the Lexington-Rockbridge Visitor Center and Historic Lexington Foundation will hold tours of Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery the last two Sundays of May at 2pm.  Tours will last approximately one hour and are open and free of charge to the public.  The cemetery is located at 314 South Main Street in Lexington.

In addition to an opportunity to learn about the people who are interred there, including prominent educators, ministers, merchants, builders and military officials, participants will learn about cemetery symbolism and iconography. Those attending will also receive the new HLF walking tour brochure of the cemetery.   The brochure provides historical information on 45 individuals/families buried in the cemetery and contains colored photography on many important grave markers.
