Projects

Lexington would look very different if Historic Lexington Foundation had never been created. Citizens interested in historical preservation gathered and formed the Historic Lexington Foundation to save and preserve our rich heritage.

HLF focused on downtown Lexington rehabilitating many buildings and created  a zoning plan and preservation policies at local and state levels. HLF’s activities have expanded, and now they help define the character and appearance of the entire community.

Today HLF focuses on the county and Buena Vista as well as Lexington, but the purpose is the same: to preserve, interpret and promote historic architecture and our Rockbridge heritage.
